KAIST Scholarship Programme for International Students 2023/2024

The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, the country’s national research institution, is providing complete scholarships to overseas Masters and PhD candidates interested in studying in South Korea.

The KAIST scholarship is available to 94% of all approved students, providing candidates a good chance of receiving financing.

The KAIST Scholarship provides international students from all over the world with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study in South Korea. Once your application is approved, you will be able to explore the beautiful cities, hospitable people, multicultural and historical heritages.

Benefit of KAIST Scholarship

  • Tuition grants are available for four semesters for Master’s degree students, ten semesters for Master’s-Ph.D. integrated degree applicants, and eight semesters for Ph.D. degree candidates.
  • Guaranteed Monthly Stipend: KRW 350,000 for Master’s programs and KRW 400,000 for Ph.D. programs
  • Actual Monthly National Health Insurance Premium

Requirement

The following are the KAIST Scholarship eligibility requirements:

  1. Candidates must be overseas students with no Korean nationality.
  2. Candidates for the Master’s or Master’s-Ph.D. degree program must have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent quality by the commencement of the course.
  3. Candidates for the Ph.D. degree program must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent quality by the commencement of their course.
  4. Korean Bachelor’s Degree Equivalent Standards
    • A four-year university degree
    • A three-year Bologna compatible bachelor’s degree
    • The first cycle qualification in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) qualification framework
    • Bachelor’s degree with honors in British pattern education
    • Cases other than the above frameworks must ADDITIONALLY provide a report on Academic Credential Assessment for Admission from KARIC.
  5. All candidates must provide one of the following English proficiency test (EPT) results: The scores must be current at the time of the online application deadline.
    • TOEFL iBT
    • IELTS
    • TOEIC
    • TEPS
